Features of Huntingdon Country Club to Consider before Becoming a Member

Huntingdon Country Club has long been a family oriented club. Members enjoy a full schedule of golf, tennis, squash and paddle tennis, in addition to dining and swimming facilities.

The golf community is passionate about its game, and many players are eager to play year-round. This passion for the sport was reflected in 2021 when North Huntingdon Township opened an 18-hole disc golf course at Oak Hollow Park off Morris Avenue. Consider these features of Huntingdon country club to become a knowledgeable member.

Golf

Easily the best golf course in the area. The greens are always in fantastic shape and the tee boxes are set at a good distance to force the golfer to think and to be precise. The course is played in a large bowl with plenty of sloping terrain which makes it a stern test.

In the Philadelphia area, there are a number of great courses but HVCC is perhaps the finest overall. It certainly accentuates everything that is good about the game of golf. The bunkers are superb and the greens complex. The site was ideally routed and Flynn & Toomey made the most of it.

The front nine plays around the top of the property while the back nine winds its way around the bottom. This provides a variety of hole pairings, direction, elevation and other challenges to make this a very interesting and challenging course.

Tennis

Designed in 1925 by renowned golf course architect William Flynn, Philmont’s beautiful, challenging 12 acre tennis course provides Members and their guests with the ultimate country club experience. Philmont’s tennis facilities feature 18 lighted courts and a full range of amenities. The Club’s men’s and women’s inter-club teams compete in a variety of leagues, and the Club is also a perennial powerhouse in the Philadelphia area Country Club swimming league. The membership and professional staff of Huntingdon Valley are proud to carry forward a long tradition of excellence in a wide array of sports and social activities.

Non-Members must be “Sponsored” by a Club Member in order to register for camp.

Squash

HVCC has an outstanding Squash program including a current National age group Champion and many college level players. Our teams participate in PSRA inter-club competition year in and year out, and our players compete on the local, regional and national levels.

The Golf Course at Huntingdon Valley Country Club is a classic, championship design by one of the area’s best architects, William Flynn. It resides on 170 acres overlooking two ridges and a lush green valley, and is listed as one of America’s Top 100 Classic courses by Golfweek Magazine.

While most clubs have a menu of membership options (golf, tennis, full etc), HVCC offers one flat membership so all members are treated equally. This spirit is reflected in the quality of the membership and staff. It is a family oriented Club, as evidenced by the high level of participation in the sports junior programs and by the number of fine young golfers, tennis players and swimmers produced by HVCC.

Fitness Center

In addition to its golf courses, Huntingdon Valley Country Club offers members a fitness center and swimming pool. The club’s fitness facility features weight training equipment, free weights, and a large cardio area with flat-screen TVs.

The club also has a swimming pool that opens Memorial Day and stays open through September. The pool offers a variety of activities, lessons, and happy hours. Guests can enjoy the club’s swimming facilities, but they must be accompanied by a member at all times.

The club hosts various events throughout the year, including holiday parties and live music performances. In addition, the club hosts golf and tennis tournaments for its members. It is also home to two prestigious championship golf courses, the William Flynn Course and the Toomey Nine. The golf tournaments have attracted some of the best players in the world. Huntingdon Valley Country Club is a premier private club in suburban Philadelphia. Its elegant facilities and beautiful grounds make it a desirable destination for families and business professionals alike.

Social Activities

Whether it is playing golf on a pristine course, working out in the fitness center, or spending time in the clubhouse, members of Huntingdon Country Club find plenty to do and enjoy. Clubhouse events are hosted throughout the year, and members get involved through a variety of volunteer opportunities. For example, the 4LIFE group promotes the idea that every human life is worth protecting and supports life for unborn children, orphans, elderly people, those who are ill or disabled, and those who have been enslaved or imprisoned.

If you are planning a wedding, the in-house team of professionals is happy to help make your day perfect from start to finish. They can accommodate all personalized requests and dietary restrictions for total peace of mind. Plus, you’ll have exclusive access to the facility’s elegant bridal suites so that you can prepare for your big moment in peace.
